Sir Roger de Cressey III 1278 - 1317

   Cressey Coat-of-ArmsSir Roger de Cressey III 1278 - 1317 Eldest son of William de Cressey II and Johanna de Cressey.   At this time, it is not clear to whom Roger was married but he sired the following;

Roger like his father before him was summoned to serve his King against the Scots in 1301.   He had been granted the estate at  Melton-on-the-Hill in Yorkshire, renamed centuries later as High Melton, at the same time as owning an estate at Helmingham, Suffolk.   However whether it was a family feud or for some other reason (family intrigue) he never became Lord of Hodsock.   He died in 1317.
