Roger de Cressey I

Cressey Named English Notables

Cressey Coat-of-Arms It would appear from recorded history that it is likely the first person to bear the name Roger de Cressey came to England (probably the Nottinghamshire area) in the late 12th century as the successor to the Lizours Family Estate,  to become the then Lord of Hodsock.

There is little recorded evidence available although it has been determined that Roger de Cressey I married Cecily, daughter of Gervase Clifton.  This union produced at least the following son:

Son William de Cressey 1 1201 - 1232.
