Northern Pride was one of many large German trawlers built at Bremerhaven for Macfisheries as part of the 1914-18 war reparations. This vessel sailed from Fleetwood, Lancashire until 1937, when it was transferred to Grimsby. Original port of registry No. of Pride was LO104, She became Gy 169 on arrival at Grimsby. Northern Pride was requisitioned from Grimsby, converted to an "Asdic Trawler" and served in the Royal Navy during the second world war. David William Cressey was awarded the DSM for services whilst serving aboard this vessel.
