John Wing (1777-1826)/Jane?(1780-1861)

This couple had four known sons between 1817-1826

Parish of St Mary Hull

First ChildRobert (1817-1879), baptised at St Mary, Hull,  Yorkshire, England.



Second Child.  William Wing (1821-1889), baptised. Holy Trinity, Hull, Yorkshire, England.  It is known that William emigrated to Sydney Australia about 1842.


Third Child. George Wing (1821-?), baptised Holy Trinity, Hull, Yorkshire.


Fourth Child.   David Wing 1826, baptised  Holy Trinity, Hull, Yorkshire. 

At the census of 1841 this family were residing at Garrison side Hull.

HO107; Civil Parish:  Garrison Side ; County:  Yorkshire ; Enumeration District:  1 ; Page: 2; Line: 16; GSU roll: 464226.

Jane Wing (1780) is found in 1851 aged 71 residing at Charter House Hospital Hull, which was known to be one of the many Almshouses in the area.    A Charitable hospital founded and endowed in Hull by benevolent persons/charities for the benefit of poor people.  Twenty-eight poor men and twenty-nine poor women were housed in the hospital, which in modern times has come to be spoken of as ' The Charterhouse.'

At the census of 1861 Jane is found Charter House Hospital, Kingston Upon Hull, Yorkshire
