Historical Data

    Thomas Riches born in Fleetwood, Lancashire, England in 1902.  The third son of Arthur Albert Riches and Elizabeth Eaves.  His occupation was that of a Fisherman like his father.   A skipper sailing out of the port of Fleetwood.

       He married Annie Gillette in 1923.   This union produced the following five children between 1924-1941.

First Child.   Son Thomas William Arthur Riches born Fleetwood, Lancashire in 1924.

Second Child.    Daughter Florence Joan Riches born Fleetwood, Lancashire in 1926. ****see below

   Shortly after the birth of Joan the family moved to Canada.

Third Child.    Daughter Eileen Riches was born in Canada 1928.

    In 1931 the family returned to England and lived at several addresses in Hull, Yorkshire. 

Fourth Child.   Son Joseph Reuben (known as Benny) Riches born 1933 at St Matthew St, Hull, Yorkshire.

   The Family returned to Fleetwood, Lancashire in 1936.  In 1939 they paid a fleeting visit to Canada again with a view to staying there, but decided against it with WW2 looming.

Fifth Child.   Son David Riches born Fleetwood 1941

****Florence Joan Riches born Fleetwood, Lancashire 1926 married Vincent Rimmer in 1945. This union produced the following seven children between 1945 - 1962.

Son Vincent Rimmer  born 1949
Son John Rimmer  born 1952
Son Robert Rimmer  born 1954
Son Ian Rimmer  born 1956
Daughter Joan Rimmer  born 1961 - See Below****

******Joan Rimmer born 1961 married Christopher John Bailey in 1981.   This couple have one child. Daughter Jennifer Bailey born 1982.
