In 1898 he married Elizabeth Eaves (aged 17) b.1880 at Thornton In Fylde, Lancashire, England, (daughter of William Eaves b.1860 and Elizabeth Eaves b.1859) at Fleetwood, Lancashire.  Arthur, aged 29, declared a bachelor, his occupation being that of a fisherman sailing out of the fishing port of Fleetwood, Lancashire.   Witnesses to this marriage were Reuben Riches a mariner and the brides father William Eaves, a fisherman.   This union produced the following four children between 1898 and 1905.
