     Philip Pickering christened at Holy Trinity, Kingston Upon Hull, Yorkshire, England on 13th November 1854.   The son of George Pickering and Jane Anderson.  His occupation is given as a Steamship Stoker.    

 

At the UK Census of 1861 Philip is found residing with his mother Jane and siblings as shown.  (His father George is away at sea).
