(1731) and Jane Loadman (1751)
He married Mary Speck on 5th July 1784 at Bainton, East Yorkshire, England.
Between the years 1784 -1805 this union produced at least the following

Thomas Pickering Christened 18th July 1790, at
Kilnwick, East Yorkshire. The third child of William Pickering and
Mary Speck.
Thomas Pickering died aged 76 years and was buried in
Kilnwick Church cemetery
on 21st November 1866.
He married
Sarah? b.c.1800 (still researching) They had at least four
children between 1826 - 1841. Sarah probably died prior to 1851,
for at the census of 1861, Thomas is shown as a widower residing at 22
Village Street Kilnwick.

It is interesting to note here that living next door to Thomas at this
time is John Carter and his wife Ann (Daughter of Thomas)

Daughter Leah Pickering b.c.1829 at Kilnwick East Yorkshire. Leah is shown
residing with her parents at the census of 1841 - but thereafter there is no
trace.

This couple appear to have had nine children between 1849 - 1866
Ann
Carter (Pickering) died 22nd January 1895 aged 68 and was buried in
the cemetery of Kilnwick church. John
Carter died in 1906 aged 77 and rests in the same plot with his wife
Ann. The graves at Kilnwick,
Yorkshire were visited in June 2001.

Son William Pickering Christened 10th April 1831, at Kilnwick,
Yorkshire, England. At the census of 1861 William was living at
home with his father and younger brother Robert. He was unmarried
at this time. His occupation was that of Ag Lab.

c. 1834, by 1881 they were residing at, Kilnwick Lodge, Beverley Road,
Kilnwick, Yorkshire. This couple probably had the following six
children between 1869 - 1880.
First Child. Daughter Elizabeth Pickering born c. 1869 at
Kilnwick, Yorkshire. Elizabeth probably married John Dobson at
Driffield in March 1898.

Child. Son William T. Pickering born c.1870 at Kilnwick,
Yorkshire. At the census of 1891 William was found to be a farm
servant at Bracken Farm, Driffield, Yorkshire. William
T probably married Sarah Green at Hull in 1910.

Sixth Child.
Son Joseph Pickering born c. 1880 at Kilnwick,
Yorkshire. At the census of 1901 Joseph is shown as a visitor with
Thomas Harrison and Sarah Harrison at Sculcoates Hull. He is declared
unmarried General Labourer. Joseph probably married Ethel Bontoft at Hull in
1909.

the census of 1891 William, a bricklayer's labourer by trade now, wife
Mary, their eldest daughter Elizabeth, a domestic servant (cook) and
their youngest son Joseph, where residing at Village Street, Kilnwick,
Yorkshire.
William died in

Robert was living at home with his father (now aged 71) and elder brother William.
He was unmarried at this time, aged 27 years.

c. 1845, In 1871 they were residing at
Kilnwick in East Yorkshire with their first three children.
