Grace
was born in Ireland her birth registered at Newry, Armagh, Ireland on 18th
October 1878. She was the seventh child of Robert George
Osborne and Catherine Organ. Her father was a soldier listed as a Mess Steward
(Soldier).
In
1881 this family is recorded as residing at the
"Royal Victoria Hospital" Netley & Adj Buildings,
Census Place:
Hound, Hampshire, England.

She married David William
Cressey (1874-1936)
in Dec 1898 who was evidently a bit of a loose cannon. ("A red haired fly
by the seat of your pants type"). A deep sea Fisherman by trade
sailing out of the ports of Hull, East Yorkshire and Milford Haven in
Pembrokeshire. David Wm had previously been married to Lilie Bryce who had
died some 12 months earlier in Wales.
Between 1898 - 1919 they probably produced the following six children.
At
the census of 1901 this young family were found to be residing at 28 Witty
Street, Hessle Road Hull with their first child Elsie.

Early
married life was spent mostly in the Hessle Road area of
Hull.
Grace, Husband David William, his mother (Jane
Wing 1842) all lived happily down Brighton
Street and Scarborough Street, until about
1934 when both Grace and David William moved to a small house at 57 North Road, Hull.
Grace
died on the 8th May 1936 aged 58 years. She was buried
at the Western Cemetery,
Hull on the 12th May1936.
David William died on the 9th September 1936 3 months after his
wife. The story goes that he
took his own life. He is buried next to his wife. The
Graves in Western Cemetery, Hull, Yorkshire were visited in the
year 2002. No Headstones remain.
