Edward (Ted) Reuben Fuller(1896-1980)

 Ted form of EDWARD (m) "rich guard" or "blessed guard" from Old English ead "rich, blessed" and weard "guard".

     Ted Fuller was the third of seven children of Ellen Selina and Samuel John Fuller born at Yarmouth, Norfolk in Dec 1896.

    At the census in 1901, Edward is found to be residing with his mother Ellen Selina Fuller ( Riches) at 4 Passage Row, Yarmouth.  Father  Samuel John Fuller is presumed to be away at sea.

Source extract UK 19011 census RG_13_1809_142_13.  (The census data by the enumerator is totally wrong here.   First child Ellen May is in fact 8 years old.)

     In 1920 he married Edith Towell,  this union producing 3 girls and one boy.  They lived in a small terraced house down North Road, Hull, England.

First Child.  Daughter Irene Fuller, born in Southcoates Hull, Yorkshire 1924, Birth registration under MYT/80a/382.  Irene married Leslie Farnill (1921-1989) at Hull in 1944 and they had two children.

Second Child.   Son Arthur Fuller, born in Southcoates Hull, Yorkshire 1927, Birth registration under HES/122/328.   Arthur married Freda and they had three children, Ray, Chris and Gary.   

Arthur died at Hull on the 19th September 2006.

Third Child.   Daughter Sylvia Fuller born in Southcoates Hull, Yorkshire 1930, Birth registration under HES/129/280.   It is most probable that She married Ken Atkinson at Hull in 1953 and had three children, Hazel, Denise and Avril.

Fourth Child.   Daughter Iris Fuller born in Newington Hull, Yorkshire 1939, Birth registration under  NEW/6/22   Iris married Brian Foot and had three children.

 

Ted and Family - Edie, Iris, Arthur, Irene, Ted and Sylvia

        Ted spent all his working life as a shipwright on the Hull docks.   However, in his early sixties, he fell into a ships hold and broke most of the bones in his body.   He never worked again.
