Samuel and Selina produced 7 children, Nellie, Arthur, Ted,
Hilda, BillyRosie, Doris. Samuel died at sea in 1914. Ellen Selina lived a widow in a small terraced house,
14 Collenso Street, Hull, bringing up her children the best she
could. She was known locally has Nellie, there are maybe two reasons for
this.
Her
daughter Nellie died in tragic circumstances and she adopted this name in memory.
If you reverse her
first name Ellen, backwards it becomes "Nelle".
