Samuel John Fuller (1871-1914)

     Born in 1871 at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England, one of eight children to Samuel and Johanna Fuller   

      In 1881 age 10, he was residing with his family at No 6 Row 85, North Side, Great Yarmouth, England, (previously known as: 'Crown & Heart or Baptist Meeting South Row').   Father was at Sea.

     At the Census In 1891 Samuel John Fuller, Age 19, was found to be living with Ellen Selina Riches (age 19) both unmarried residing at the home of his sister Caroline and her husband Henry Beckett at No7 Row 127 Great Yarmouth.   Previously known as, Post House Row, Chapel Paved Row, St Georges East Row   Samuel John Fuller was declared to be a Seaman.   Ellen Selina at this time was employed as a Silkwinder.

Samuel John & Ellen Selina Fuller (Riches) Circa 1890

 Samuel aged 19 married Ellen Selina Riches at the Parish Church in Great Yarmouth on 10th August 1891.   Selina was 19 years old.

     At the census in 1901, Wife, Ellen Selina Fuller ( Riches) and first three children are residing at 4 Passage Row, Yarmouth.  Samuel John Fuller is presumed to be away at sea.

     It is believed that they had 7 children, Doris Amy the youngest.  

     Around 1907, Samuel John,  Ellen Selina and their first five children left Great Yarmouth and moved to Hull, Yorkshire to reside at 14 Collenso Street.   Rosina and Doris were born in Hull.  Samuel's occupation was that of a mariner (a Ketch Captain) Trawler Skipper.

Doris was just a thought at a later date 1911

     Samuel  became known as a mariner (a Ketch Captain) Trawler Skipper, sailing out of both Great Yarmouth and Hull.  This is stated on the Marriage Certificate of his daughter Doris Amy.    He died a relatively young man at the age of 43 on 10th December 1914.  He was buried in the Western Cemetery, Hull on 13th December 1914.
