William (Billy) Fuller(1901 -1980?)

Billy short form of WILLIAM (m) "will helmet" from the Germanic elements wil "will, desire" and helm "helmet". The name was introduced to Britain by the Normans.

Third child of Samuel John and Ellen Selina Fuller born in Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk, c. 1901.   He married Elsie and had two daughters Joan born in the Hull district of Hessle in 1936.    Birth reference HES/1432/23.  Second daughter Pam was born in Australia 1947.   

   The family emigrated to Australia under the £10 emigration system.   In 1969 they returned for a holiday in England staying with Doris and John Richard Carter at Hessle.   They also visited with Judith and Trevor Cressey at Potters Bar London, where Trevor took Billy to see England play Germany at Wembley Stadium.

     The last known contact was in the mid 80s when news was received that Billy had died.   Elsie remarried late in her 80s and was living in Perth Western Australia.
