Arthur Samuel Fuller 1895-1929

Arthur Fuller born at Yarmouth Norfolk 1895.   The eldest son of Ellen Selina and Samuel John Fuller.  

 

At the census of 1901 he is found to be residing with his mother and siblings at 4 Passage Row, Yarmouth.   His father is not present at this time and is probably away at sea.

 Arthur married Alice M Moment b.c 1889 at Hull in 1914.

     He was a young man at the beginning of the first world war in 1914.   He entered the army as a soldier and served in France during the first world war.  

 

 

     The family story is told that he became a POW, captured whilst lying seriously injured on the battle front with a serious head injury.   He was hospitalized for many months.    The German Medics operated on him to save his life and placed a metal plate in his head to support a scull fracture.  

 

     

     He survived, however, due to a further head injury whilst at work in 1929, he collapsed and died.  He was 33 years old.
