     Ada was the fifth child of nine/ten children of Betsy Pickering and Fred Edgar, born 1906 in the Hessle district of Hull, Yorkshire, registration No HES/63/95.

     She married John William McCollin in 1935 at Sculcoates Parish, Hull, East Yorkshire (ref source Sculcoates, Hull 9d 509) residing at  83 Essex Street, Gypsyville Hull

John William McCollin (1878-1940) was the second son of William Henry (1851-1917) and Susannah McCollin (1851-1912), born at  56 Whitefriargate. Hull, East Yorkshire in 1878.  John William had previously been married to Morice Jane Pick, they married in 1899. John William was described as a metal worker. (Ref source Hull 9d 464)

From this union Jack was born in 1901,(Frederick 1903 and Muriel in 1905, sadly neither survived their first year).  Sidney was born in 1914 and Dorothy in 1918, sadly she also died in her first year. 

   John became widowed whilst residing at 83 Essex Street, Hull, in 1934, marrying Ada his housekeeper, in 1935.   This union produced one daughter, June born 1936.   The birth of June was registered in the Sculcoates district of Hull, Yorkshire Reference No WES/174/310.

  Ada and 4 year old June remained to live at 83 Essex Street, Hull  until about 1946, when she moved to Gloucester Street, Hull, Yorkshire, to be a housekeeper for Arthur (Ren) Cowling born Beverley East Yorkshire c.1876 who was a widower.   

 
         Ada cared for her mother Betsy Edgar during the latter years of Betsey's life, which ended in 1961 at the house in Westbourne Terrace Gloucester Street.

        Ada eventually married Arthur (Ren) Cowling very late in life (Late 60s) and remained at the home in Gloucester Street, Gypsyville, Hull, until her death in the early 70s.   Arthur (Ren) moved to live with Dave and Florence Cressey (Sister of Ada) at Hessle until his death in the late 70s.  The boy was getting on a bit.

        June McCollin (Ada's daughter) married Clive Booth in 1955,

 however June tragically died in 1977 at the age of 41, leaving a husband and three young children, Paul, Tracy and Kim.  Clive her husband was severely injured in a road vehicle accident some years later.
