Jane Elizabeth Wing (1842)

JANE (f) Feminine form of JOHN, from the Old French Jehanne.

     Jane was born in Sidney Australia in 1842, Christened 13th August 1843 at St James, Sydney, New South Wales, returning to England in 1843/44, the daughter of David and Clarissa Wing who in 1881 were residing at 73 Spring Bank, Hull.   Jane married William Cressey (born Hull 1841) in September 1863.

They produced at least six children between 1864-1875.   At the 1881 Holy Trinity Census, Hull, Jane and William were residing with their family at 4 Fewston Terrace, Hull England.   

At the census of 1891 William and Jane were found to be residing at 36 Gillette Street, Hull, Yorkshire.   With them was their Daughter Elizabeth Ann, her husband George Eaman with their new daughter Florence M  Eaman born Hull Yorkshire c.1890 .

      First Child.   Son Arthur Edward Cressey born Hull in 1864.   Birth registered at the district of Myton, registration MYT/56/444.  Arthur married at Hull in 1888.  At the census of 1901 Arthur aged 37, was found to be residing as a patient at the Hull City Lunatic Asylum. Arthur died at Hull in 1902.

Second Child.   Daughter Alice Edith Cressey born Hull 1867.   Birth registered at the district of Myton, registration MYT/68/54.  Alice married at Hull in 1884.

Third Child.    Daughter Clarissa Anne Cressey 1869-1869.   Birth registered at the district of Myton, registration MYT/73/173. Clarissa was not to survive.

Fourth Child.   Daughter Elizabeth Ann Cressey born Hull 1873. She married George Eaman at Hull in 1890.  This union had at least  children. Florence M Eaman b.c. 1891 Alice Eaman b.c. 1896 and Lily b.c. 1897.  George was decalred to be an ominbus driver.

Fifth Child. Son David William Cressey (1874-1936).   Birth registered at the district of Myton, registration MYT/94/37.

Sixth Child.    Daughter Clarissa Wing Cressey 1875-1875

At the census of 1901 Jane and William are found to be residing at Carlton Terrace, Hessle Road Hull.   With them is their Daughter Elizabeth Ann, her husband George Eaman with their family.  Florence 10, Alice 5, and Lily Eaman aged 3.
