Esther Cotton
(Cressey) 1907-1997?
ESTHER (f) Perhaps either "star" (Persian) or a Hebrew form of
ISHTAR, a Persian goddess. The Book of Esther in the Old Testament tells of Queen Esther, the Jewish wife of the king of Persia, who saves many Jews from persecution.

Esther was the fourth child of Grace Osbourne and
William
Cressey. born in the Hessle district of Hessle, Hull
Yorkshire, under
reference HES/67/278 in 1907. She married Ike Cotton in 1928 and this union produced the
following three
daughters.
