Alexander Carter (1886) was the second child of Robert Pickering Carter (1856-1927) and Mary Jane Keeping (1855-1936).

   Alexander Carter was born at Kilnwick, Yorkshire in June 1886.  

At the census of 1891 Alexander was found residing with his parents and siblings at Lockington,Yorkshire.

 At the census of 1901 Alexander was found aged 14, to be employed by Richard Duggleby (Farmer) as a horseman at Caukell Farm, Watton, Bainton, Yorkshire. (Source RG13/4520).

 He enlisted into the Army on the 22 December 1914, at this time he was residing at 67 Spring Street, Hull.

On the 'Roll of Honour' at Kilnwick, Alexander is shown as Gunner, Hull Heavy Battery RGA

On the 23rd May 1919, after discharge from the Army, Alexander was awarded a pension of Five Shillings and Sixpence per week .

Alexander probably married Eliza Long at Sculcoates, Hull in 1929.
