Margaret was born at
Gainsborough, Lincolnshire on 16th June 1942. She married
Frank
Bosman in July 1983 at Beverley, East Yorkshire. Sara, Andrew
and Rebecca were children from her previous marriage to Doug Hunter.
In 1996, three years prior to Frank's retirement, Frank and Margaret bought an Idyllic home situated
in the hills of North Yorkshire above High Bentham. Tragically
this was not to be, retirement was to bring
sadness on 8th November 2000, when Margaret lost her battle
with illness. Margaret was cremated at Lancaster on
17th November 2000, after a service conducted by a Member of the 'Humanist
Society'.
Margaret
enjoyed a lifelong interest in poetry. After her death friends
began asking for copies of the poems she had written. It was
then that a decision was made to publish some of her poems - to her
memory.
A publication "High Horses" - a collection
of poems by Margaret Bosman was produced in June 2001.
Remembrance
- with thanks to Claude Monet

Heavy-lidded, somnolent
Awakening to another dawn,
Clouds of poppies fill my eyes,
reminding me of a time long gone.
The poppies nod; they seem to say
"this is where the young men lay
lest you forget.
"With near close lids,
Did I perceive a movement?
Then, as one,
they rose within a timeless shroud
to walk across my brain,
haunting me,
lest I forget.
To soon their marching died,
as they in a sea of scarlet courage lay.
This moving picture in simple frame
Will forever
on my wall remain
Lest I forget....
