Neiles was born in 1855
probably,
one of eight children born to George & Sarah Billany.
He married Elizabeth Hannah Kidd
(1855-1918) on the 9th April 1874 at
St Stephen, Hull.

eldest of four children of Marshall and
May Kidd, of 15 Ebor Terrace,
Scarborough, North Yorkshire,
England.

Ann Billany was born in 1874, in the Myton district of Hull,
Yorkshire. Birth reference MYT/95/117, and baptised on 22nd September 1875 at
St. Paul, Sculcoates, Hull. When the family returned to Hull in early
1891, Elizabeth stayed in Beverley, working as a servant, an under housemaid, at

married Stephen Johnson Marling (born 1873), a
butcher on 6th February 1894 at Holy Trinity, Hull.

Child. William
Marshall Billany born in the West Sculcoates district of Hull, Yorkshire in
1875. Birth reference WES/38/43, he was also baptised 22nd September 1875 at St. Paul,
Sculcoates, Hull. He died in 1884, Beverley, East Yorkshire aged 9.

After the birth of William Marshall Billany, the family moved to Beverley where
Neiles, a tanner, probably worked at Hodgson's Tannery. From 1875 to
early 1891 they were residing at: KELDGATE,
St Martin, Beverley, East Yorkshire. The following seven children were born in Beverley, East
Yorkshire, England, during the period 1878 - 1888.

Agnes Billany was born 1878 in Beverley. She married Frederick Harrison
junior (born 1876), a fisherman on 6th August 1898 at St. James, Hull.

May Billany was born in 1879, Beverley. She married James Dinsdale
junior born 1877, a labourer on 10th October 1900, at St. James, Hull.

Place, Hull. They had one
son James Lawrence Dinsdale, born August 1901 who died aged 11 months on 27th
September 1902. Edith May Dinsdale (Billany) died 9th January 1904 aged
24. She was buried with her young son in Grave No 1651 at the
Western Cemetery, Hull on the 12th January 1904.The graves contained within Western
Cemetery, Hull were visited on 10 Aug 2001. No headstones
remain.

Neiles Billany, was born in 1881, Beverley. He married Lilie
Tomlinson (1884-1974) on 24th April 1907 at St. James, Hull

least twelve children between 1908-1933. All of the children are now known and
have been confirmed.
In 1937 George was employed as a fish fryer, at 75 Walcott
Street, Hessle Road,
Hull. George Neiles Billany died in 1946, Hull aged 64.

Maud Billany was born in 1883, Beverley. She married Harwood Maulkinson in
1908, Sculcoates, Hull, England.

They had at least four children,
sons Harwood Henry and Rob, daughters Ada Rowe and Charlotte (Lotte). Son
Harwood Henry Maulkinson was born Hull in November 1910 and died aged 3 months
0n 30th January 1911. He was buried in a Billany Family plot, grave
No 32187 at the Western Cemetery, Hull on the 5th February 1911. They were
residing at
 
6 Inchfawn Avenue, Massey Street, Hull, at this time. Their
second child daughter Ada Rowe Maulkinson born January 1912 died 9th
October 1913 aged 1 year 10 months. She was buried in the same plot as her
brother on 12th October 1913. Charlotte Maude died in 1952 aged 69. The
graves contained within Western
Cemetery, Hull were visited on 10 Aug 2001. No headstones
remain.

Martha Billany was born on 15th November 1886 in Beverley, East
Yorkshire, England. Mother of Fred Billany
(1907-1977). She married Richard
Carter (1889-1978) on 15th June 1912 at Hull Register Office and they had
one son, John Richard Carter (1912-1997).

Child. Ernest
Walter Billany was born in 1888, Beverley, East Yorkshire and died 2nd
August 1892 aged 4. At the time of his death in 1892, he was
declared as living at Chiltern Street, Hull. Walter was buried in
the Western Cemetery, Hull on 6th August 1892. Grave no 1651. The
grave contained within Western
Cemetery, Hull was visited on 10 Aug 2001. No headstones remain.

Child. Harold Billany was born in 1893,
in the Hessle district of Hull, Yorkshire. Birth
reference HES/30/61.
He married Ada Bennett (1893-1974) on 28th October 1914
at St James, Hull.

This couple had at least two children:
Son Joseph Harold
Billany born September 1915, in the Hessle district of Hull,
Yorkshire. Birth reference HES/92/162. He died 14th December 1915 aged 4 months,
and was
buried in the Billany Family plot at the Western
Cemetery, Hull on 18th December 1915. Plot Number 41188.
A Daughter named Ada R Billany (we
believe to be known as Rita born 1918,
in the Hessle district of Hull, Yorkshire. Birth
reference HES/99/36.
She married Cecil Harrison
in 1939. This union produced a daughter named Carol. In the
Kelly's Directory of 1937
Harold was shown to be employed as a fish fryer, at 57 Woodcock Street, Hessle Road, Hull.
He was residing at, 157 Glasgow Street,
Hessle Road, Hull, East Yorkshire. Harold
Billany died in 1960, Hull aged 67.

It
is known that Neiles carried out the
trade of a
tanner because of an entry on the 1881
Census and also from an entry on the
marriage certificate; of his daughter Florence Martha
Billany.
It is likely that he worked at the
Tannery in Beverley (probably
Hodgsons).
Neiles,
Elizabeth and their family left Beverley and
returned to Hull during early 1891. At the census of 1891 the couple were residing at 142 Chiltern
Street, Hull, with seven of their children - Mary
Edith George Charlotte
(Maud) Rosina Florence
(Martha) and Ernest. Their tenth
child Harold Billany was born in 1893
at this address.

the census of 1901 the couple had moved from Chiltern Street and found to
be residing at 1 Botanic Place, Hessle Road, Hull.

Shortly
after 1901 the family moved again to Chiltern Street, Hull, Neiles remained at
this address until his death in
1935.
Neiles Boynton Billany died in 9th December 1935,
aged 80 and is buried at
the Western Cemetery, Hull next to
his wife in Grave No 51314 compartment 532, burial No 70040.
Elizabeth Hannah Billany
(Kidd)
died in 1918, aged 64. The
graves were visited in August 2001.
