William Beckett <Any name highlighted on 'mouse over' will lead you to a profile of that person.> Introduction - Potted History- Beginnings The Beckett family is traced from the late 17th, early eighteenth century, originating from Norfolk, England. William Beckett married Mary Draper 26th April 1719 at Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk, England. The following six children were born between 1721 and 1727. First Child.
Daughter Susannah born 20th August 1721(Bapt. 20 August 1721) at Great Yarmouth.
Susannah married Charles Gray, 1st January 1736/7 in Great
Yarmouth. On the death of Charles Gray, Susannah married David
Carter on 26th November 1757, at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Second Child. Son Thomas Beckett born Great Yarmouth 5th May 1723 (Bapt. 5 May 1723) Third Child. Son William Draper Beckett born 2nd October 1725 died 8th January 1799 at Great Yarmouth. Fourth Child. Son John Beckett born 18th October 1730-1821) (Bapt. 18 October 1730) at Great Yarmouth. John married Martha Alexander (1738-1813) on 22nd August 1756 at Gt Yarmouth. Sixth Child. Son Thomas Beckett born 8th May 1737 (Bapt. 8 May 1737) at Gt Yarmouth Norfolk. He married Sarah Goodwin on 5th May 1778 at Yarmouth. At the time of marriage Thomas was declared to be a Grocer and he was listed in the Norfolk Director of 1817 as a grocer. Witnesses to this marriage were: Mary & Richard Goodwin. This union produced eleven children between 1777-1799.
