The Beckett family is traced from the late 17th, early eighteenth century, originating from Norfolk, England.

Walter George Beckett born 1880 (Bapt. 26 August 1880) Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk, England.   The eleventh child of  Henry Carter Beckett a  Fisherman and Catherine Jacobs b.c.1845.   (Source FHL Number 1526459)

At the UK census of 1901 Walter was residing with his parents at Yarmouth - he was described as a Silk Hand.

Walter married Constance Waters (youngest daughter of George James Waters) on the 26th August 1901 at Gt Yarmouth.  This couple had at least the following children.   They were residing at 60, St. Nicholas Rd., Great Yarmouth.

First Child.   Daughter Kate Constance Beckett (1902-1981) Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk.   Kate married Herbert George Parker on the 27th February 1927, at Yarmouth Norfolk.

Second Child.   Son Walter Henry George Beckett (1905-1961) Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk.  Walter married Leah Elizabeth Marion Reeve (1907-1987) on 24th July 1926 at Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk.  This couple probably had the following child:  

Son Godfrey Walter Beckett born 21st December 1939.  Godfrey married Jill Mary Beckett (b.c.1945) 15th October 1966 at Yarmouth, Norfolk.  This couple had at least one child, Philip Walter Beckett b.c. 1975 at Yarmouth.

 Third Child.   Daughter Constance Beckett (1914-1992 Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk.

  

Walter George Beckett died during the first world war. The details from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission show that he was a "Trimmer" on His Majesty's Trawler Miura, which was lost on the 23rd August 1915.  the Miura was sunk by a U boat off North Shipwash Buoy, Thames Estuary, England:
