Introduction - Potted History- Beginnings

The Beckett family is traced from the late 17th, early eighteenth century, originating from Norfolk, England.

    

     John Beckett the fourth child of William Beckett and Mary Draper born 18th October 1730 (Bapt. 18 October 1730) at Great Yarmouth.   John married Martha Alexander (1738-1813) on 22nd August 1756 at Gt Yarmouth.   John died and was buried on 15th November 1821 at Gt Yarmouth Norfolk.   Martha was buried 15th February 1813.   This union produced the following six children between 1757 - 1771.

First Child.   Daughter Mary Beckett 1757-1804 Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk. 

Second Child.  Son John Beckett b.c.1758 Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk.

Third Child.   Daughter  Elizabeth Beckett (1762-1799) Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk.  Elizabeth died 1799. 

(Bapt. 14 February 1762)     

Fourth Child.   Daughter Martha Beckett (1765-1766) Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk.

Fifth Child.   Daughter Martha Beckett b.c. 1767 Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk.   (Bapt 14th May 1767) 

Sixth Child.   Daughter Ann Beckett b.c.1771Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk.
