Henry James Beckett 1862 <Any name highlighted on 'mouse over' will lead you to a profile of that person> Introduction - Potted History- Beginnings The Beckett family is traced from the late 17th, early eighteenth century, originating from Norfolk, England. Son Henry James Beckett born c.1862 Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk, England - occupation given as a Grocers Porter. First child of Henry Carter Beckett a Fisherman and Catherine Jacobs b.c.1845. (Source FHL Number 1526459) Henry James Beckett (1863) married Caroline Ann Fuller (1863), first child of Samuel John Fuller and Joanna Margaret Paston Howard, at St Nicholas, Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk, England on 8th May 1884. (Source Gt Yarmouth Parish Register page 230 entry 459). They were residing at Row 88, South Side Gt Yarmouth, previously called; Woodwards Row. This couple had at least the following five children between 1884 - 1891. First Child. Son Henry S. Beckett born Yarmouth 1884. Henry probably married Catherine B Thompson at Yarmouth in 1913. (Source entry Yarmouth Parish Register Volume 4b page 29). Second Child. Daughter Ethel Beckett born Yarmouth 1885 Third Child. Daughter Edith Marion Beckett born Yarmouth on 6th February 1891, (baptised 31st May 1891) Edith probably married ? Mills at Yarmouth in 1924. (Source entry Yarmouth Parish Register Volume 4b page 20). Fourth Child. Son Harrold Beckett b.c.1895 Yarmouth, Norfolk. Fifth Child. Daughter Flora Lavinia b.c.1900 Yarmouth, Norfolk. Flora Lavinia probably married James Walker at Luton, England in 1922 (Source entry Yarmouth Parish Register Page 83 item 658). At the census in 1891, Henry James Beckett (28) with wife Caroline (Fuller) age 28 were residing at No 7 Row 107, Great Yarmouth, previous known as, Post House Row, Chapel Paved Row, St.Georges East Row. Henry James declared employment was that of a Groom. Also residing with Henry and Caroline at this time were, Caroline's brother Samuel John Fuller (19) and Ellen Selina Riches (19). There is a transcriber error shown here - Ellen Selina is shown as Ellen Elizabeth Rickes. Samuel John Fuller was declared to be a Seaman. Ellen Selina was employed as a Silkwinder. Henry Beckett was a witness to the marriage of Samuel John Fuller to Ellen Selina Riches on 10th August 1891.
