Introduction - Potted History- Beginnings

The Beckett family is traced from the late 17th, early eighteenth century, originating from Norfolk, England.

    

Edward Beckett born 29th November 1871 Gt Yarmouth Norfolk.   Son of Louisa.  (Third child of Jasper Draper Beckett) ,  (Bapt. 18th September 1807).  He married Elizabeth Mary Sillis (b.c. 1868, daughter of William Sillis) on the 22nd April 1894 at St Nicholas Gt Yarmouth.

At the census of 1881 Edward is shown as staying with his grandmother at Blyths Bldgs, Grosvenor Rd. Great Yarmouth.

 On the census of 1901 Edward is shown to be a Mechants Agent and residing with his wife and daughter at the Greyhound Inn, Peterborough.  His wife Elizabeth is shown as the manageress. There is now one child present.

First Child.   Daughter Jenny Beckett b.c.1895 at Yarmouth Norfolk.
