George Bean (1821-1896)

         George Bean (1821-1896) son of  George Bean, christened at Slingsby North Yorkshire 15th April 1821. On 13th June 1844 at St Michaels, Malton, North Yorkshire he married Ann Kitson b.c.1823, christened at Slingsby 12th October 1823.  Ann was the daughter of Jonathan Hardy and Mary Kitson.  This couple produced at least the following five children between 1847-1863.  George died 16th May 1896 aged 75 years.  Ann Bean (Kitson) died 7th May 1872 aged 48 years.

First Child.     John Bean baptized 7th April 1847 at St Leonard's Church Malton, Yorkshire.

Second Child.    Mary Hannah Bean, born 14th November 1854 in Spittle St. Old Malton, North Yorkshire.

Third Child.    Jane Elizabeth Bean, b.c. 1858 christened 6th December 1863 in New Malton, North Yorkshire.   Jane had at least, the following child.

Daughter Sarah Ann Bean b.c.1878 christened 16th May 1878 at New Malton, North Yorkshire.  

Fourth Child.   Sarah Ann Elizabeth Bean, b.c.1861, christened 6th December 1863 in New Malton, North Yorkshire.

Fifth Child.    John Bean, b.c.1863 christened 6th December 1963 in New Malton, North Yorkshire.    At the census of 1901 John, is unmarried, living in Wingate parish, Co. Durham, his Occupation, a Tailor.

At the census of 1861 this family are residing at 'Cave Lane, Newbiggin Malton, North Yorkshire.  George is described as a tailor.

At the census of 1881 this family are residing at 'GreenGate', New Malton, North Yorkshire.

George now a widower aged 60, a tailor, Daughter Mary Hannah, unmarried, aged 25, Daughter Sarah Ann, unmarried, aged 19, John Bean, unmarried aged 17.  Also at this time there are three grandchildren present, namely,  Annie Aged 7, Thomas aged 4, William aged 2, all born in Malton North Yorkshire.  The parent of the grandchildren is Mary Hannah Bean.   The father is not known at this time. 

     In 1891, George along with his youngest son John was residing with daughter Mary Hannah and her husband William Postill, at 8 Derwent Street, Middlesbrough.
