    Donald Arthur Armstrong born 7th August 1936, Wheatley Hill, Co. Durham. son of Mary Alice Prentice and  Arthur Armstrong.   He married Muriel Agnes Sharp born 11th July 1941 at Langley Park, Co. Durham on 11th July 1964.  Muriel was the daughter of William Sharp and Mary White and she was christened at Langley Park, Co. Durham on 3rd August 1941.  Witnesses to the marriage were Edwin W. Forster and Meryl Cousin.  

In 1972 Donald with his family emigrated to New Zealand.

This union had the following two children between 1967- 1969.

First Child.   Daughter Helen Margaret Armstrong born 9th April 1967, christened 14th May 1967 at Avenue Methodist Church, Middlesborough, Yorkshire.   She married Grant Barry Malone born 25th September 1959, Auckland, New Zealand.   Marriage taking place on 28th September 1991 in Auckland.

Second Child.   Son David Alan Armstrong born 10th February 1969 at 11a Eastby Avenue, Middlesborough, Yorkshire.  Christened 6th April 1969 at Avenue Methodist Church, Middlesborough, Yorkshire. He married Leigh Patricia Smalley born 6th May 1969.   Marriage taking place in Auckland, New Zealand 23rd March 1991.
